Strong Museum

Over winter break we met up with the cousins to go to the Strong National Museum of Play. When I was a kid it was just the Strong Museum, and it had lots of display cases you couldn't touch anything in. And a mini-Wegman's. That was pretty much it.What a difference a few decades make! This place is HUGE!The child-sized Wegman's is still there, and the Sesame Street facade as well. Plus there's a giant sand box, a moving train, a house, tinker toys, The Berenstein Bears, an airplane... and more.
I don't think we saw even a quarter of the museum on our trip. We arrived right when the museum opened, but we only managed to get to Sesame Street, Wegman's, and the giant doll house before it was nap time and the kids were hungry for lunch. It didn't help that the museum was packed with kids, also on break from school.
Cousin J. was a huge help with J. She kept an eye on him while I ran around after K, who far from being overwhelmed was fascinated by everything.
We'll make a trip back soon- hopefully on a day when the rest of the Rochester area isn't on school break!
