Easter Eggs

Even after 30+ years of dying Easter Eggs I'm still learning something new. Having always dyed the eggs after they were refrigerated, I never knew that you could use crayons on HOT eggs!

Of course I knew that you could draw on a hardboiled egg with crayon so that when you dyed it the dye wouldn't stick to the letters or whatever you drew. But drawing on a hot egg results in brighter, bolder, thicker more beautiful drawings. And there is no mess from the dye!We did use the dye as well, since J loved fishing the eggs out of the cups with his lifter. But I loved the way these turned out.

And since it was grandma's birthday this week we made cupcakes too. J decorated them this morning with some of the jelly beans he found at the egg hunts last weekend.
