Mother's Day Means Tea

...and hats.  And cookies.

And we found all that at Wood Library for a special Mother's Day Tea.

I love Wood Library.  Nearly all of their activities for the kids are free.  Both kids go to their own story time each week with Mrs. Ferris (who has not aged in 30 years.  Seriously.)  And despite this event having food included, it was free too.

(Take a note, Canandaigua YMCA.  You can offer programs for FREE- especially when you already charge an expensive monthly membership fee!)

The kids and I and grandma had our own table.  After going to the buffet to select cookies, fruit, and treats, we returned to the table.  Volunteers came around to each table to serve tea, lemonade, and berry juice.

 Even the kids drank their juice out of tea cups.  And they loved it.

 After tea Mrs. Ferris read a few stories and did finger plays.  K asked for "hotdogs!" and she was happy to oblige. 

 And of course there was a story on the famous flannel board!

 We are blessed to have such a wonderful library in our community.  And blessed that Mrs. Ferris is still encouraging children to read!
