When I met Mark I was exposed to something entirely different when it came to family- BIG families! With his mother and father both having three siblings a piece, there are a LOT of cousins he grew up with!
Now that all of the cousins have married and had children of their own, my kids have lots of cousins too!
We usually only see the McMullen clan once or twice a year. This year Mark organized a picnic at his mother's hospital to bring the family together in the summer time.
Growing up there were 7 girls and 3 boys. Some 30-years later, it's 8 girls and 3 boys. We may live farther apart than Mark did growing up with his cousins, but some things never change. The kids love playing together!
I'm grateful that our kids have the experience of a big extended family. And it's a blessing that everyone could find time in the busiest time of year to get together.
