Vacation- Part III

So far so good with the additional pictures....

By mid-week we decided to take a day trip to nearby Portland, Maine.  Mark had a customer along the way and Taryn wanted lobster.

The weather turned sour that day.  You could have easily swapped Portland, Maine for Portland, Oregon.  In the steady rain we took a Duck Tour of the city and bay, and had lunch at a place in the former wharves district.

And then we drove home, in the rain.

It was a pretty uneventful day for as long as we were in the car!

But the rest of the week was better weather-wise and we drove to the top of Cathedral Cliffs and walked around Echo Lake.

We headed home after five days... in a trip that seemed to take that amount of time.  What should have been a 7-8 hour drive took nearly 14.

But we did have a lot of great stops along the way.  We visited the Ben & Jerry's factory in Vermont.  We also stopped to walk around Lake George.  There were also stops for lunch & dinner.

Luckily the kids were great for the full day of travel.  Mark & Taryn, not so much.
But in the end we had a great week, and it was a great experience for the kids.  They not remember the trip, but I think I took enough pictures to help refresh their memory.  355 in 5 days, to be exact.  Now to scrapbook them all...
