Seneca Park Zoo

Shortly before J graduated from his preschool we went on a field trip to the Seneca Park Zoo.

I love going here- it's the perfect sized zoo for Rochester.  There is enough to see to keep the kids interested for a few hours, it's very walkable (even for K), and even though it seems like such a long distance to travel (all the way past Rochester up to the lake!  Past even Irondequoit Mall!), it's hardly a 45-minute drive.
The new African exhibit is open- although it's more like a shell around the previously existing exhibits and animal enclosures than a totally new exhibit.  They did add a safari bus though.

The kids loved it.  After 2 hours of walking around we had seen all of the animals and returned to the front of the zoo for lunch.
After a short stop to the playground outside the zoo grounds we were homeward bound.  And it was J, not K, who fell asleep in the car first.
