Anyways, I don't have the time to make a newsletter with all of the family accomplishments over the year. There's not even time to write a letter about what we've been up to. But I DO have this blog. There are of course hundreds of posts to sift through on the right hand side, but to make things quick and easy, here's our year in a series of pictures:
January. Oh, baby! Welcome baby K! Mommy gave birth to one BIG baby girl!
And what a present for Grandpa Jay. A granddaughter to share his birthday!
January was also J's 2nd birthday.
In February we went to the skating rink. Poor J didn't have much success on skates. Better luck next year!
As for K, she was one sleepy baby!
When the snow finally let up, we discovered that our new lawn had settled- a lot! We suddenly had a pond in our front yard. J loved to use it for "pishin' "
Easter was cold, but we still had the traditional Easter Egg hunt at Grandma Dobbs' house.
And what better excuse than a holiday to dress up the kids!
The warm weather soon followed. The neighborhood had a party in the park and we broke out the shorts and t-shirts for the first time!
Of course in Upstate NY the weather doesn't stay constant for long. A few weeks later J was back in jeans and a coat as Grandma and Grandpa Dobbs took him to meet Thomas the Train.
Auntie Tewks visited in May for Baby K's baptism.
We were blessed to be surrounded by so many family and friends. Uncle Kyle, the God father, even managed to make it to the church in time for the family pictures.
The kids got along famously as baby K began growing.
We celebrated Mother's Day with a girls-only portrait session.
Warm weather meant plenty of time outside! Every Saturday morning you could find our family taking a walk to the farmer's market and a local park.
We even convinced daddy to come along to the Zoo!
It was HOT this summer! Luckily we had a slip n' slide to play with, and neighbors to join in the fun. Mommy even tried a run down the slip n' slide... though you won't see pictures here!
The entire Windheim clan came into town for the 4th of July. Baby K met all of Grandpa Jay's sisters.
Mommy and daddy even got a few nights out.
There were all kinds of trips. J loved the frog pond at Cummings Nature Center.
We still can't believe how well the kids get along.
After Labor Day we took our first family vacation. We headed North to Saranac Lake in the Adirondacks.
Mommy's friends joined us and we had a blast taking hikes, going out on the boat, and relaxing in our cabin.
All too soon the weather turned cool.
But cool weather means trips to Power's Farm market, pumpkin picking, and walks in the cool, crisp air.
And mommy's favorite holiday just around the corner...
Halloween!! We had a party for the neighborhood again, hosted by Cinderella, Shrek, and Princess Fiona.
We also hosted Thanksgiving Dinner. Mark cooked the entire feast!
We're so grateful to our family and friends. We wish you all a warm Christmas and a wonderful new year. God bless!
