Pumpkin Picking Time!

Pumpkin picking time is the best! We woke up early on Saturday morning and headed off to the Pickin' Patch on Rt 5&20 before everyone else had the same idea we did. And with the sun out and the temperature near 80, it certainly wasn't an original idea to go pumpkin picking!
Luckily there were still plenty of pumpkins left. With them all lined up in the grass, it's not so much "picking" as just picking out. But mommy doesn't mind not trouncing through a muddy field to pick out a pumpkin.
The place sure has grown since we were last here two years ago. They've added a train, slides, and barnyard bouncer. The kids went for a ride on the train, walked through the corn maze, and petted the animals in the petting zoo.The train ride was a big hit. After the ride we picked out five pumpkins to take home. And we sampled the cookies- of course! Now we're all set for Halloween. Our pumpkins are on the porch and we'll get to carving them this week. And of course we'll bake up the pumpkin seeds! What a great time of the year!
